The Tiny Home Village That's Giving Veterans a Fresh Start

Veterans Community Project has built six tiny home villages across the United States for homeless veterans — with an 85% success rate getting residents into permanent housing.

Since Veterans Community Project (VCP) opened its first tiny home village in Kansas City in 2018, the organization has quietly changed the lives of hundreds of American veterans.

The model is simple: small, dignified homes with on-site case managers who provide comprehensive support. No large shelters. No crowded dormitories. Just a stable place to live and a team committed to helping each resident move toward something permanent.

The results speak for themselves. VCP reports an 85% success rate for veterans who complete the program — transitioning to sustainable permanent housing in an average of 335 days.

In 2025, VCP broke ground on its sixth village, this time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Twenty-nine veterans had already graduated from the program that year and moved into their own homes.

"This place saved me," said one resident.

For many veterans, those four words are the whole story.
